Six protection categories
Start with the action your service needs to protect. Device intelligence describes the environment, account-abuse tools connect activity to product rules, and payment products assess a transaction. Chargeback services address disputes and eligible losses, bot defenses control automation, and verification checks an identity claim.
A product can appear in several categories because its portfolio covers more than one task. That does not mean every module comes in the same subscription. Read the product review for collection requirements, access terms and the operating questions to resolve with the provider.
For an initial shortlist, write down the evidence you already collect and the gap that prevents a useful decision. Then compare tools within the relevant workflow. A component can fit an established risk system; a broader platform can reduce the number of separate integrations a small team operates.
Each category links a practical guide and the same published evaluation framework. Follow those links to define a pilot with a customer outcome, an owner and a response deadline.
